Production Tooling

High-speed graphite milling, precision CNC EDM and 4-axis CNC machining are a few of the tools we use to manufacture the finest class-101 molds. BeCu cavities and inserts - pressure cast and machined, hot runners, three plate construction, all are very familiar at OAR.

We specialize in Insert molds and highly complex three-dimensional designs with low to medium cavitation are our specialty – incorporating proven techniques to improve mold performance and extend tool life.

Production tooling is built and guaranteed to meet the Society of Plastics Industry specifications. Molds can also be built to your company's own specifications or requested components.

Speed Base™ Prototype Molding System

Prototyping

Prototyping methods include composite tooling, soft steel and aluminum molds in MUD units and inserts into master frames, and can be molded instantly at our facility. We'll work with you from the design stage to prototyping to production tooling, and will stand behind our work 100%, as we have for 30 years.

Prototype molds can be manufactured from a part print, a three dimensional part file, or a physical prototype part. In many cases, the prototype parts can be molded in-house for evaluation. This reduces the development time required in the part development and design process.

Service & Repair

OAR has a separate department dedicated solely to mold changes and repairs. Our experienced moldmakers have access to extensive engineering and machining equipment, and can repair or change virtually any mold in any condition.

As internal moldmaking capabilities become more scarce, OAR serves as a repair and servicing department for many molders around New England. Additionally, we accept Visa and Mastercard as payment. OAR can pick up and deliver up to 3 tons of tooling, providing added convenience to our customers.

Specialty Machining

In addition to our conventional machining equipment, OAR provides a wide array of specialty machining services, such as Drill EDM – for accurate, straight, stress-free holes with diameters as low as .008”, CNC Wire EDM – full 3 axis control, allowing highly complex holes, contours, and electrodes to be machined, CNC Die-Sinking EDM – accommodating workpieces up to 10,000 lbs. Pantography – allowing prototype parts to be reproduced.

Our electrode machining center provides high speed machining of electrodes to be used for die sinking EDM. OAR also has dedicated rooms used for polishing and micro-welding, to further our service commitment.
